I like to keep our bathroom bench completely clear so I have a nice, clean space to work with when I’m getting ready to head out. It also makes cleaning the bathroom a breeze because you don’t have to move anything to wipe benches down. I try and have a spot for everything we use in either a cupboard or a drawer to achieve the clear and spacious look. This is what our bathroom bench looks like when it’s not being used:

Bathroom Bench
Drawer Organisation

We keep our hair products and accessories in the first drawer, in an Ikea acrylic organiser.

Second drawer stores our hair dryer and my hair styling tools in a K-Mart file rack
Cupboard Organisation
We are fortunate enough to have a fairly large en suite. We have two double door cupboards and three drawers to work with, which is more than enough space for two people. Our linen closet however is on the other side of the house, so our en suite cupboards needed to be big enough to house the towels and mats we use in our bathroom, hence the re-organisation.
Originally, I kept all of my beauty products in a large basket and they would all sort of be thrown in there. It looked okay but wasn’t the most efficient way of organising things because my items were scattered and not categorised.

How I did it
Unfortunately, I am ridiculously terrible at remembering to take ‘before’ shots so I only have two photos above which are pretty old. They don’t exactly do the ‘before’ shot justice because usually my side had a tonne of towels that barely fit. We have obviously since replaced our towels and now hubby has some on his side so my cupboard isn’t as cluttered.

I used some magazine files from spotlight to organise all my beauty products. I had a chunk cut out of two so they could fit around the awkward plumbing in the bathroom.

The little boxes are $1 K-Mart pen holders which I stuck onto the cupboards with velcro, so they can still be removed and washed.

I added some black handles I picked up from Bunnings to make the files easier to slide out. I screwed them directly into the wooden magazine files

En Suite Organisation – pre-labels

Using some black tags I got off ebay (I took this photo before the black ones arrived), I added some white vinyl stickers which I got from Pretty.Little.Designs

Here is a photo of what it all looks like turned the other way. Essentially, I slide each of these out to grab whatever I need.
Hubby’s Side:
I also organised hubby’s side. We have so many towels because he grew up using a different towel every day. Since it’s just the two of us, we only do the laundry about twice a week so I wait until I can fill the machine with towels before turning it on. This leaves us on a pretty high towel rotation hence the spares.

Amazing attention to detail! Visual eye! Loving creativity.
It looks lovely, Iryna. You are certainly very good at organising the different areas of your home. It makes it so much easier to find things.
Hello
Where do you keep all your makeup and did you buy the magazine racks in white or painted them?
Looks so neat!
Hi there,
I just moved all my make up to a make up station so stay tuned for a post 🙂
The magazine files came as white xx
Hello Iryna again, im very keen to see your makeup station, it needs easy quick access but easy to store n hide!
I will do a post on it shortly when I’m finished but if you follow me on instagram, I have some stories on there about my robe and you can see what I’ve done so far 🙂
Hello where do you buy the Velcro from?, Is it easy to apply. I’m not good at this stuff! ? Thanks
Hi Sheryl,
I buy it from a shop called cheap as chips here in Adelaide and they come as velcro round stickers. It cost around $5 for a pack of 100
Wow thanks, I work in Adelaide City so will check out. Just a couple dots hold well? I’m thinking include deodorant cans in so may stick 3 cups in. KMart stocks are low in the cups & Adelaide’s kmart are sold out of the white pop canisters!
I use 4 dots on each cup and haven’t had an issue with deodorant weight 🙂
I love this! We are moving to our new place soon so these are great inspirations. Can I ask where you got the towels from? And do they stay fluffy after washes? I’m still on the hunt for the perfect towels 🙂 Thank you!
