One of the first things I did when we moved into our home was organise our guest bathroom. We have two bathrooms in our home, our en-suite and the main bathroom which doubles as the guest bathroom. Because it is right next door to the guest bedroom, it is also where our linen closet is. I keep it organised, labelled and tidy, so guests have access to everything they need without having to ask. You can read all about that here.
We have a very long bathroom sink with three sets of cupboards underneath. I use each cupboard to store spare items, travel toiletries and more guest towels. I also have a decorative basket on display with some hand towels and bath products – makes for a welcoming and pampering like atmosphere. I hate cluttered bench-tops and like everything to have its own allocated space in a cupboard or basket somewhere but if things have to remain on the bench because of limited storage space, I try and turn those things into decor items, which is how the pamper basket came about.
I want all of our guests to feel at home in our house and help themselves to whatever they may need, so I also keep a basket full of spare toothbrushes, face washes and general creams under the sink. As cute as it looks, it also serves as a great lucky dip for those times when we ourselves run out of supplies and don’t have time to go to the store or are travelling for work and don’t want to pack a huge bottle of shampoo.
So here is a run down on what we keep in each cupboard:
Left Hand Side:
This cupboard houses all of our excess toilet paper and toilet cleaning products.
Here, we store all of our guest toiletries as well as travel toiletries
Right Hand Side:
This cupboard stores extra soap as well as other guest toiletries.
